Audi Demonstrates the First Automated Vehicle in New York State

Last month, Audi was the first automaker to demonstrate an automated vehicle in the state of New York as the company demonstrated Audi Highway Pilot technology, which is Society of Automobile Engineers Level 3 automation, at the statehouse for an assembled crowd of legislators, staffers and media.

Audi's vehicle route was reviewed and pre-approved by the New York State Police, who were required to supervise the demonstration. of Audi Highway Pilot technology. The vehicle is capable of autonomous driving at posted highway speeds under specific conditions, while two trained engineers ride in the vehicle to ensure safe operation and monitor the system.
