In a feat of fine engineering, the Audi R18 e-tron Quattro became the first hybrid to win the famed Le Mans 24 hour race. It's not your typical hybrid, with the high compression V6 diesel engine, but surprisingly some its technology is very similar to your Audi.
Of course, the superb stability comes from Quattro technology, as the engine's power becomes distributed to the wheels individually. Fueled by innovation, the Audi team also changed up the exterior of the car to further increase aerodynamic drag. Drag may seem to be the opposite of what we look for in our conventional cars, but especially on a track with high speed turns and long straight legs, it is a necessity.
