While everyone in the automotive industry is eagerly waiting for the arrival of the new A3 Sedan, which is due out next year, we have been looking even further into the future to see what our favorite performance automaker has in store. Recent announcements from the company certainly have us excited for more all-new Audi vehicles that will apparently be ready for the 2016 model year.
It was just this week that Audi spoke out about a new crossover vehicle that will be called the Q1. Sales of the Audi Q5 and the other members of the Q family demonstrate that drivers are beginning to recognize the potential of these utility models. It appears that Audi may create the Q1 as the entry-level crossover like the A3 will be for sedans.
That point was backed up by Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of management at Audi, who said, "The Audi Q1 is part of our broad-based SUV strategy. It is designed on the basis of the modular transverse engine concept and will round off our Q series at the bottom."1
This is also big news for European production facilities, as Audi has already committed to building the new Q1 models at its plant in Ingolstadt, German.
There are no details about the Q1 out yet, but you can be sure that we will be following this story very closely her eat Audi of Charlotte and will pass on all the news right here on our blog. For any information you may want on the vehicles currently in our inventory, simply call, or stop by our dealership showroom located at 9300 E. Independence Blvd. Matthews, NC. We hope to see you soon.
