Last month was a very good month for Audi. Thanks in part to enthusiasts in the Charlotte area, The Four-Ringed automaker is boasting best-ever September sales. More impressive than monthly sales alone, however, is the fact September represents Audi's ninth record-breaking month of the year.
Exactly how many sales qualify a "record-breaking" September? Over 9,725 units...or a 1,574-unit (19.3-percent) gain over September 2010 numbers...As you can see, Audi didn't just break a record, they buried it.
Among the many appealing new Audi vehicles responsible for this tremendous growth are the 2012 Audi A6, 2012 Audi Q7 and 2012 Audi A3.
Year to date, Audi A6 sales have increased by almost 43 percent and Q7 sales by almost 31 percent. The A3 TDI clean diesel and Q7 TDI clean diesel models account for over 50 percent and 46 percent of Audi's total September sales, respectively.
Another notable model responsible for pulling Audi sales 153-percent ahead of last September is the reintroduced Audi TT RS sports car. While last September, consumers purchased only 210 of these vehicles; this September, they bought 1,662!
"Our strong third-quarter sales figures clearly reinforce that Audi is a luxury market leader," says Johan de Nysschan, President, Audi of America. "All indicators continue to point toward 2011 winding up as the best year Audi has ever enjoyed in the U.S. market with even more sales growth ahead."1
